BJP hits back at Mayawati

The BJP today hit back at BSP chief Mayawati saying she has no moral right to talk of corruption as people rejected her from Uttar Pradesh for "indulging in corrupt practices" and supporting the UPA government in whose regime many big scams took place.
It also said the Narendra Modi government has been given a five-year mandate by the people and she has no right to attack it. The government has been in power for three months only and will go to the people with its achievements after its full term.
"Mayawati has no right to criticise the BJP government. She has no moral right to talk of corruption as she has been rejected by the people for both indulging in corruption and for supporting a government during which many big scams took place," BJP Secretary Shrikant Sharma said.

He said people have rejected her both during the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh and in the Lok Sabha polls due to the due to her misrule in the state during the past. As a result her party could not even open its account anywhere in the country.
Sharma said people have not forgotten the NRHM scam during her regime in Uttar Pradesh when many health officials were killed, including those lodged inside Jails, and the CBI is investigating it.
"Mayawati should introspect and look at the mirror rather than pointing fingers at those given an absolute mandate by the people," he said.

The BJP leader said she had been a mute spectator to the atrocities committed on dalits in the SP government in Uttar Pradesh and also the atrocities committed on them during her own regime.

Training her guns on RSS, BSP chief Mayawati today claimed it was emerging as an "unconstitutional and unaccountable" organisation after the formation of Modi government, whose performance has been "disappointing".
The former UP chief minister alleged that BJP was trying to use communal tension for political gains in the upcoming bypolls and objected to RSS members being given "constitutional" posts.
She also condemned the heckling of chief ministers, saying such "indecent" behaviour by BJP and RSS workers would only weaken the federal structure.

Mayawati said it was enough time for a majority government to start fulfilling its promises and bring "achchey din" to live up to the expectations of the people.
