BJP lashes Chennithala and Pinarayi

BJP Kerala unit President V Muraleedharan today criticised Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala for flaying police action against students who published articles in college magazines portraying Prime Minister Narendra Modi in poor light.
Speaking to mediapersons here Muraleedharan said police had registered cases against the students pertaining to their campus magazine containing 'unsavoury and objectionable' language against Modi.
In view of Channithala's statement flaying police action against the students Muraleedharan said 'chennithala was unfit to occupy the high post he is holding. He will have to reply to the people', Muraleedharan said.
The BJP leader has also criticised CPI(M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, who had justified the magazine by saying 'it is part of freedom of expression'.

In a democracy people has the right to criticise, but it should not be through using 'unsavoury' language, he said.
The education department had not come forward to seek explanation from the concerned in this regard, he charged.
A controversy was recently raked after a campus magazine of a college at Guruvayoor was found to have used 'objectionable and unsavoury' language against Modi, garbed as a cross word puzzle. Nine students of the college was also arrested and later let off on bail in this regard. In a similar case, the campus magazine of a polytechnic featured Modi in the list of 'negative faces' along with Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, George Bush and a few other internationally well-known figures.
