Targeting 272 plus seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, BJP today launched its ambitious door-to-door "Ek Note, Kamal par Vote" campaign here to reach out to every household and collect contributions.
Kicking off the campaign, BJP president Rajnath Singh appealed to the party workers to connect with the common man, and cautioned that "failing to connect with them might hamper the chances of the party's success".
Singh said that for some reasons "we have not got the desired results in the just-concluded Assembly elections in Delhi", and exhorted workers to work hard to ensure the party's victory in all seven Lok Sabha seats in the capital.
He said the people of the country were looking for "a change" and the BJP-led NDA had emerged as "the only viable alternative", and urged party workers to reach out to every one to strengthen the bond between them and the party.
"The elections will come in the month of May, but before that can't our workers go twice or thrice to every household and connect to the people?" he asked.
"I have been travelling the length and breath of this country, and the target of 272 plus seats which has been given to our workers.. No one can stop us from achieving that in the coming Lok Sabha elections," he said.
The BJP president said the party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's popularity could well be judged by the fact that discussions about him were not only taking place in this country but in other countries in the world as well.

"This time the elections are not happening to form the government but to build the country," he said.
Terming the campaign a significant one, Singh said just like there was importance of a worker's sweat to win an election, there was also the need for funds for undertaking other activities, and party activists across the country would carry on the campaign in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls.
"We decided that we will go to the people's door and ask them for one currency note (it may be in any denomination) and ask for their support," he added.
