As part of the offensive, the party will observe an "anti state-sponsored goondaism fortnight" by holding rallies and demonstrations across the state which would continue upto February 15.
The offensive was launched from Jwalaji and Bhatiyat where former chief ministers P K Dhumal and Shanta Kumar lashed out at the government for encouraging lawlessness and demanded action against Youth Congress activists, who led by their state president Vikramaditya Singh, had attacked the BJP office on January 29, party spokesman Ganesh Dutt said.
Addressing the rally at Jwalaji, Dhumal said that all developmental works have come to a standstill during past two years as the government was passing through acute financial crunch and resorting to borrowing to run the government. BJP leaders are being harassed and victimised while law and order situation has deteriorated alarmingly.
Alleging that the attack on the BJP office was pre-planned, he said that many BJP workers were injured and one BJYM activist Rajesh Sharda sustained severe eye injury and was admitted to PGI at Chandigarh.
