Of the four accused, Rakesh Singh and Abhay Singh are the sons of MPFCSC vice chairman and senior BJP leader Devraj Singh Parihar. The other accused are Jandal Singh Chauhan and Praveen Singh Tomar, said Khargone superintendent of police Amit Singh.
Parihar, by virtue of being the MPFCSC vice chairman, enjoys the status of a junior state minister.
The accused visited Mohana village in Khargone district last night and had an altercation with Jagdish Mankar, a labourer, the SP said.
During the altercation, when Atul came to his father's rescue, the accused slammed him down, causing grievous injury to the chest, which resulted in his death.
Then they took away Jagdish and confined him in a house in Khendel village under Khudel police station area in Indore, the officer said.
Police rescued Jagdish from Khendel village today and arrested the four accused, the SP said, adding further investigation is on.
