In a move aimed at embarassing Trinamool Congress, a BJP member has given a notice in the Lok Sabha for a discussion on Sharada and other chit fund scams in the country.
Former Union Minister S S Ahluwalia said he has given the notice to have the discussion under rule 193 which does not entail voting. Ahluwalia represents Darjeeling constituency in West Bengal.
Trinamool Congress is locked in a turf war with BJP in the state where BJP is trying making political capital of the arrest and alleged invovlement of several TMC leaders in the Sharada chit fund scam to target the ruling party in the state.
The two parties are frequently at loggerheads, especially after the recent rally of BJP President Amit Shah in Kolkata which the TMC government had earlier attempted to ban.
