BJP member Upendra Tewari and others today sat on a dharna in the well of the UP Assembly alleging that they were not being allowed to speak on departmental budgets in the House.
Tewari sat on a dharna in the well when he did not get an opportunity to speak on the Budget of Revenue department presented in the House.
Tewari who was joined by some other MLAs of his party alleged that he wanted to speak about some issues concerning his home district Ballia but was not allowed at the behest of Ambika Chaudhary (whom Tewari had defeated in the last Assembly elections).
As Tewari and others continued their sit in, the business on the agenda was conducted in rush and the House was adjourned for the day.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan, PWD and Revenue Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav, Radha Mohan Das Agarwal of BJP and Aradhana Misra of Congress were seen pacifying Tewari.
