BJP members in the Karnataka Legislative Council today staged a walkout when Muzrai Minister Prakash Hukkeri turned down their demand to withdraw an appeal from the Supreme Court against verdict of the High Court on scrapping of temple administrative committees.
Kota Srinivas Pujari said government has encroached on the temple managements' freedom. Supporting her party colleague, Bharati Shetty charged the government with being "anti-Hindu" saying it did not have courage to touch places of worship of other religions.
When the minister refused the demand of withdrawing case from the apex court, BJP members trooped out of the House.
