Himachal Pradesh minister G S Bali today accused the BJP of misleading people on revival of the Himalayan Ski Village project saying its promoters were not even in touch with the government.
"How can the project be revived when the promoters have not even approached the government? This is only a ploy of the BJP to create confusion and instigate people," said Bali, the Transport minister.
The BJP, Himachal Lokhit Party and VHP leaders had been issuing statements that they would stall the Rs 1581-crore project, he said.
"How they will do it when the project has not started," asked the minister.
Bali, who was the Tourism minister when the project was finalised in 2005, said the cancellation of the project by the BJP was challenged in the court and the government lost the case.
"The BJP government filed an SLP against the decision of the High Court. Now it is prerogative of the government to withdraw the SLP," he said.
The project in picturesque Manali in Kullu district was started during the previous Congress government. The BJP vehemently opposed it.
