Participating in the debate on FDI in Rajya Sabha, she also lashed out at BJP leader Sushma Swaraj for her certain comments made yesterday in Lok Sabha after BSP abstained from voting on FDI, triggering verbal clashes between members of the two parties.

"Whenever our party votes against or abstains from voting, our opponents allege that it was done under CBI pressure... This has become a fashion to level such allegations," said Mayawati.

The chief of BSP, whose 15 members will be crucial during voting in the Upper House tomorrow, stated this while announcing that she would vote with the government on the motion against bringing FDI in multi-brand retail.

The party yesterday abstained from voting in Lok Sabha as their members walked out citing some reasons.

Claiming that she was not afraid of CBI, Mayawati said, "I would like to say with conviction that we are not afraid of CBI. We are not afraid even in worst time."

While stating this, she hit out at BJP.

"I feel it is important to share how CBI was misused during NDA tenure. Ruling BJP at that time had put pressure of CBI on me. I would like to inform you that BJP investigated all cases for political purpose," she said. (MORE)
