BJP MP Udit Raj on Saturday inaugurated the newly-constructed waiting hall and a green park in the circulating area for passengers at the Narela Railway Station.
According to a statement issued by the office of Raj, who is the MP from North-West Delhi, Rs 1.5 crore had been sanctioned from the MP Local Area Development (LAD) fund for the beautification of the railway station.
Due to the presence of Delhi's oldest mandi and the industrial area in Narela, the number of passengers commuting on daily basis has increased in recent years, it said.
The railway station has a footfall of nearly 10,000 passengers per day, the statement added.
"I have done the beautification work of the station by using Rs 1.50 crore from my MPLAD fund.
"With the help of my MPLAD fund, the Railway Department has not only made the station beautiful but also provided different types of facilities for travellers," the statement quoted Raj as saying.
