The AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) spearheading the agitation demanding setting up of an AIIMS in Jammu today said it has only suspended the bandh and not the agitation and asked BJP to fulfill its promise on AIIMS.
"We have only suspended bandh and not our agitation," chairman of ACC and president of JKHCBA, Jammu, Abhinav Sharma said here adding that the ACC would give a radical twist to the agitation in case the BJP fails to deliver the promise within the next few days.
Sharma addressing a large gathering here warned that things will assume alarming proportions in Jammu if the BJP fails to deliver the promise after the Monsoon Session of the Parliament was over.
He said the people of Jammu region are anxiously looking forward for the notification identifying the place where the sanctioned AIIMS will be established
He described the PDP-BJP agenda of alliance as the root cause of ongoing struggle in Jammu region for the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu and urged the BJP to distance itself completely from it.
Sharma said it was strange that the BJP conceded the demand of the PDP seeking establishment of AIIMS in Kashmir even before becoming part of the government.
"The PDP-BJP agenda of alliance is the root cause of ongoing struggle in Jammu region for the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu," he said.
He alleged that the woes of the people of the region would increase manifold in the coming days in case the BJP insisted on the implementation of the agenda of alliance, which is "anti" Jammu.
