The CPI(M) state committee today met here and decided that it will fight against the "sinister ploy" of BJP and RSS to spread seeds of communalism in India and West Bengal.
"The BJP and RSS are trying to destroy the secular fabric. They are trying to carry on attack on secular and pluralistic thoughts which have been the tradition of Indian culture," CPI(M) said in a statement.

In West Bengal also, the BJP is trying to spread communalism, the party said.
"It has been heard that BJP national President Amit Shah is planning to organise Rathyatra in West Bengal to sow the seeds of communalism and polarise the people of state. But we the CPI(M) will not let it happen. We will fight tooth and nail this sinister ploy of BJP," CPI(M) said.
The CPI(M) also criticised its leader Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya for taking part in a beef festival last week.
The criticism came just a day after Left Front constituent RSP came down heavily on Bhattacharya for taking part in the festival and accusing him of hurting sentiments of a section of people.
RSP state secretary Khisti Goswami said yesterday that a politician should guard against hurting the sentiments of a community.
"We may have our personal choices and preferences, but when you are a politician and in public life, you need to take precaution before hurting sentiments of the people of a community," Goswami had said.
