'BJP praising Cong icons to cover up its dearth of leaders'

BJP has an "acute dearth" of national figures and to "cover up" this deficiency, the rival party was encashing on Congress leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, PCC President Sachin Pilot today said.
Pilot said this while commenting on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi going all praise for the Congress leaders since pre-independence era.
"BJP has an acute dearth of national figures, who contributed to the freedom struggle, and to cover up this dearth, the BJP is encashing on Congress leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru", Pilot said.
Pilot was in Jodhpur today to address a rally ahead of the municipal election, in support of the party candidates.

It was his second visit to the 'Blue City', since he assumed the charge of PCC President.
Further training its guns on BJP, Pilot said that these leaders were those, who belonged to over a century-old party and now the BJP has been intensively praising them, their values and their ideologies because the BJP has no leader of their match, as it is only a three-decade-old party.

Referring to the nearly one-year-old stint of BJP in the state, Pilot said this period was nothing but an example of "utmost despair" as the rival party has miserably failed to rise to the expectation of the people of state and respect the sweeping mandate handed out to them.

"Look at the past near one year stint of BJP. It is replete with perpetual failures", he said, alleging a spurt in crime graph of all sorts in the state.
"It is quite unfortunate that the crime graph has shot up to staggering 26 per cent in the state", he claimed.
He also made it a point to comment on Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria's recent statement stating government's inability to keep a watch on criminal activities on every nook and corner, which he had delivered, two days ago.
