The ruling BJP today staged a protest against Congress here for allegedly not allowing the monsoon session of Parliament to function smoothly.
"The Congress party washed out the monsoon season due to its ego and frenzy. The way they behaved with the Speaker is shameful. People will never forgive this party who looted the country," Union Minister and MP from Hoshiyarpur MP Vijay Sampla said.
The BJP workers demonstrated in front of the Collector's office against local Congress MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary and raised slogans against the party.
"Congress destroyed the monsoon session due to which Land and GST bills could not be passed," he said.
BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia said that the Congress has become restless because of the success Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies.
"Congress should have played a positive role as opposition. It will not yield any results. It will only harm people and adversely affect the Congress party," Kalia said.
At a time when the global economy is in doldrums, the Congress party should have engaged in a debate as to how it would impact India, Kalia said.
"They instead kept disrupting the Parliament," he added.
