The party workers held demonstrations at twelve district headquarters and three tehsil headquarters and also submitted memorandum to the government through respective Deputy Commissioners.
A large number of BJP activists participated in demonstrations to express their anger and demanded withdrawal of fare hike, party spokesman Ganesh Dutt said.
Hike in local bus fare from Rs 2 to Rs 5 was exorbitant and worked out at 150 per cent which was a huge burden on people already reeling under high rate of inflation, he said.
