Keeping in mind next year's Assembly polls in West Bengal, the BJP is revamping its party organisation from the grassroots and has removed several district organisational presidents.
A senior leader in BJP today said that the district organisational presidents were removed yesterday and a closed door meeting is being held by party national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh and joint general secretary, Shiv Prakash along with state unit president Rahul Sinha with BJP office bearers.
Recently BJP has removed organisational district secretaries of seven districts in the midst of the organisational elections in the party.
BJP's organisational meet is being held just days after the party was decimated in the recent civic polls in the state.
BJP, which was in a favourable position after the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, managed to be third position in Bidhanagar Municipal Corporation.
"Inspite of the malpractices by TMC, it is a fact that we have not been able to put up a fight against that party. Though the Left lost the poll, it has been able to put up the fight in pockets. But we have miserably failed," the BJP leader said.
"We hope to rejig our party organisation ahead of the assembly polls," he said.
According to party leaders, the party leadership has asked the leaders to work in close coordination with the RSS in the days to come.
