The board of Thane District Central Co-operative Bank (TDCC Bank) today voted out its Chairman Kapil Patil, who resigned from NCP and joined BJP which has fielded him from Bhiwandi Lok Sabha constituency.
Patil, who quit NCP a few months ago, is pitted against Congress nominee Vishwanath Patil. His defection had annoyed the NCP leadership and his ouster from TDCC Bank appears to be a fallout of that development.
In the board meeting held here, a no confidence resolution was passed against Patil by 25-0 margin. The premier district bank has a 30-member board. Of these, two posts are vacant, while three others - one each from Shiv Sena, BJP and Patil himself - abstained from voting.
