BJP General Secretary Polsani Muralidhar Rao along with Global Convener BJP Overseas Affairs Vijay Jolly will represent India's ruling party at the 8th general assembly of International Conference of Asian Political Parties.
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa will deliver the keynote address at the opening session.
The welcome reception is hosted by Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health, General Secretary of ruling Sri Lanka Freedom Party and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the General Assembly.
Besides India, the 22-member standing committee has representation from Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and Vietnam among others.
Two separate sessions on "Young Politicians Role in Asian Building" and "Women's Role in Asian Building" are also part of the ICAPP agenda.
ICAPP was launched in Manila Philippines in September 2000 with the objective to promote exchanges and cooperation among political parties of Asian countries and now is recognised by the UN as the Asian voice globally, Jolly said in a release.
