"Challenging militants to attack him and not the defenceless sarpanches and panches has literally exposed the excessively hyped political dynamism of Omar," state BJP spokesperson Nirmal Kamal told reporters here today.
She said the chief minister's statement reflected the "pathetic, defenceless and powerless condition of elected sarpanches and panches who are devoid of any security."
Kamal expressed anguish and concern over the killings of innocent sarpanches and panches in Kashmir valley and accused the government of failing to provide them security.
Dubbing militants as cowards for attacking panches and sarpanches, Omar had dared the ultras to target him, saying they would not do so fearing a befitting reply.
