Lucknow BJP president Mukesh Sharma and BJP youth-wing president Tinku Sonekar led the party workers in the protests in the state capital.
Party workers raised slogans and burnt the effigies of Rahul and Congress in front of the Vidhan Sabha.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said BJP can "never tolerate" disrespect to the Army which has the "full support" of the entire nation.
"The Congress is issuing controversial statements and misleading the people," he alleged.
"Army displayed its valour by taking action against the terrorists and the countrymen are appreciating it as well as the firm resolve of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It has perturbed Rahul Gandhi and that's why he is giving such irrational statements," he said.
