BJP state president to observe 24 hour fast from Dec 29
Press Trust of India Thiruvananthapuram :Intensifying its agitation against the CPI(M) led LDF government for its alleged anti people policies,BJP state President Kummanam Rajasekharan will observe a 24 hour fast from December 29 in front of the Secretariat here.
The protest, demanding extending the PSC ranklist, which expires on December 30 and restore distribution of ration rice and to end increasing incidents of violence against Dalits, will commence at 10 am on Dec 29 and end the next day, a BJP statement said.
This is the first time in the history of the state that ration distribution has been affected, the statement said.
During the seven month rule of the LDF, there have been attacks against 90 dalits, it alleged.
It is significant that BJP has chosen Dec 29 as the day for protest as it is the same day when the ruling CPI(M) led LDF is organising a human chain from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram to protest against 'hardships' faced by people following demonetisation of high value currency notes by the Narendra Modi government.
