Wary of any adverse public fallout of the demonetisation move, BJP has been supplying the government with feedback from the ground which has resulted in more relaxation for the masses, including increase in cash withdrawal limit from ATMs and banks among others.
BJP General Secretary (organisation) Ram Lal has spoken to its state presidents and in-charges twice since yesterday, giving a number of directions, including that party leaders and workers should not be unnecessarily queueing up to get cash
from ATMs and banks and help masses standing in lines.
Various social organisations, like ones run by yoga guru Ramdev, have also been roped in to help people, party sources said.
"There is no need to panic. We are sure that situation will ease up in 2-3 days. If we can avoid standing in queues, it will help," a source said.
He also referred to a number of relaxations given by the government over the last few days and said the party has been consistently giving feedback to the government.

Cash withdrawal limit at ATMs has been hiked to Rs 2,500 from Rs 2,000 a day. The government also extended deadline for using old notes at petrol pumps and hospitals.
Asked if inconvenience caused to the masses will result in anger against the party, he empathetically said that people have welcomed the move and continue to keep faith in Modi.
"The Prime Minister has taken the decision not in political interest but in national interest and our feedback is that people support it," he said.
