In a memorandum submitted to the Union minister, the delegation, led by BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh, requested him to send a team to Bengal and look into the condition of minorities who, it alleged, were constantly living under the threat of the TMC regime.
"Today we submitted a memorandum to Muktar Abbas Naqvi regarding the condition of minorities in the state. The Messiah of Muslims in 2011 has become destroyer of Muslims," Singh told PTI.
"Since July, 2014, the attack on minorities has intensified in Bengal. Especially the goons of the ruling Trinamool Congress are particularly targeting minorities who have joined the BJP or have become BJP sympathisers," the memorandum stated.
Arguing that more than five BJP workers have died in Birbhum district in the last five months, hundreds of BJP workers have been rendered homeless.
"The state government has effectively made the State Minority Commission and the State Human Rights Commission defunct and is very nakedly used for the benefit of the ruling party," the memorandum stated.
