BJP team visits Birbhum

A BJP delegation today visited
Birbhum district which had witnessed armed clash two days back.
The BJP delegation, including state unit Vice-President Subhas Sarkar, Samik Bhattacharya and actor-turned party activist Rupa Ganguly, met Birbhum SP Mukesh Kumar and urged him to confiscate weapons from criminals irrespective of politial affiliation.
Claiming none of the BJP workers were involved in May 19 clash in several vlllages in Parui and adjoining areas, Sarkar later told newsmen the Trinamool Congress activists "involved in the incident and named in FIRs' were moving around freely in the area.
The delegation met the family members of the BJP supporters and also went to Panrui police station.
Two persons were injured in sporadic clashes in the district on Tuesday between TMC and BJP and TMC factions.
