Terming the Trinamool Congress as "destroyer" of one minority community as they are shifting support base to the saffron party, BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh today said he will apprise the Union Minority Affairs ministry about the situation in Bengal.
"There is a pattern of deaths. They all are minorities, the fifth death of BJP minority worker. The messiah Mamata of Muslims has become destroyer because she never bothered about them except treating them as vote bank," Singh said.
"Today that votebank is shifting in large numbers to BJP and so she and TMC workers are intimidating them. This has to stop as BJP is committed to 'Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas' (inclusive growth for all)," Singh said.
"I will be seeking time with the Union Minority Affairs Minister to apprise the ministry and take appropriate action," he said.
One person was killed and another injured in a clash between supporters of Trinamool Congress and BJP at Parui in Birbhum district earlier in the day.
Sheikh Jasim, claimed to be a supporter of their party by BJP, was shot dead early this morning when they were attacked allegedly by Trinamool Congress members in the village, the police said.
Birbhum Superintendent of Police Alok Rajoria visited the Chowmondalpur locality in Parui today.
Sporadic clashes between supporters of rival political parties have taken place in Sirsita, Chowmondalpur and Jadabpur localities in Parui since last night.
