BJP to enroll 11 Lakh members in J-K
Press Trust of India Jammu Encouraged with the outcome of the assembly elections held late last year in which BJP won 25 seats the party has now set an ambitious target of enrolling 11 lakh members in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The party has set a target to enroll 11 lakh members in Jammu and Kashmir and we need to put in a collective effort to achieve the target," BJP state secretary and in charge membership drive Munish Sharma said.
The aim of the party is to strengthen its cadre in Jammu and Kashmir where for the first time it is planning to be the part of the ruling coalition, he said.
"Initially we are making members with the help of mobile phones wherein the individual who wants to join the party has to give a missed call on a toll free number after which he receives a message containing all the details and formalities of becoming the member," he said.
"To achieve the target we will intensify the ongoing membership campaign in the days to come," added Sharma.
