Around 18 opposition parties, including the Congress and Left, have announced that they would observe November 8 as 'black day' against demonetisation which they termed as the government's "most ill-conceived decision".
Appreciating the decision of demonetisation, BJP State General Secretary, Harinder Gupta claimed it has led to multi-dimensional success in curbing corruption, the highest ever unearthing of blackmoney in the country and caused a big blow to terrorism.
Gupta said people were fed up with deep-rooted corruption and scams, and the Modi government took the unprecedented step to fight graft at every level.
"We have decided to observe November 8 as anti-blackmoney day," he told reporters here.
Gupta said currently cash deposits under suspicion stand at Rs 3.68 lakh crore in 23.22 lakh bank accounts and in addition to this, banks and financial institutions reported more than 4.7 lakh suspicious transactions.
He said a less cash society would make lives of people easier and would make goods, services, housing, education and medical treatment affordable.
