Taking note of the perpetual power cuts that are adding to the woes of Kanpur residents, BJP has threatened to stage a protest if the situation is not improved by the Kanpur Electricity Supply Company Ltd.

BJP Kanpur President Surendra Maithani has sent a warning to the MD of Kanpur Electricity Supply Company Ltd (KESCO) saying if the situation of the power cuts is not improved, their party will stage protests.

"The residents are facing problems due to undeclared power cuts for 10-12 hours. Traders also suffering due to the shortage of electricity. After the poll debacle of the Samajwadi party here, no complaints of powercuts are being entertained by the SP leaders," Maithani said.
