Asked if Yeddyurappa's reinstatement as Chief Minister will now be difficult before the CBI submits its probe report on August 3, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said, "We respect the court judgement. We want an impartial enquiry. We want the truth to come out."

The Supreme Court directed a CBI probe against him for allegedly granting undue favours to firms involved in illegal mining in lieu of donations to a charitable trust run by his kin. A Special Forest bench headed by Chief Justice S H Kapadia directed the probe agency to carry out the probe and file its report by August 3.

Party sources said till Yeddyurappa gets a clean chit in the graft cases against him, it would be next to impossible to make him chief minister. BJP's campaign against corruption in the UPA government in cases like 2G spectrum allocation scam, Commonwealth Games scandal and Adarsh Housing Society would be blunted if Yeddyurappa is made the Chief Minister.

Yeddyurappa told reporters in Nanjangud near Mysore that he would request the Prime Minister to order CBI probe into the issue from 2000 till the date he was in power.

"Political conspiracy hatched against me has made me an accused in illegal mining though it is I who stopped it. I am facing the trouble after doing good work. I know how to come out of this political labyrinth," Yeddyurappa claimed.

He, however, said he welcomes the decision.

"Yeddyurappa has already spoken on the issue. We want the CBI to conduct an impartial inquiry," Hussain said.
