"Either they fail to understand ordo not want to understand that the state was yet to receive funds from the Centre for preparing theDetailed Project Reports (DPR)," the Chief Minister said.
"There is no doubt that the announcement was made by the Union Minister (Nitin Gadkari). But the process of giving clearances takes time. The contracts were given by the Union Ministry of Highways and not the state government," he said, adding he was grateful to the Centre for sanctioning the 61 highways.
He accused BJP leaders of misguiding people by saying that the state was not starting work on the roads.
Making announcements is easy, but the onus lies on the central government to construct NHs as announced by it, he said.
The Chief Minister said the thrust of the present government was on providing education to all and to assure that the enrolment of students increase in educational institutions.
Today, there are as many as 117 colleges in the state, mostly in far-flung areas, to cater to educational needs of the youth especially the girls, he said.
