A senior BJP leader has asked party members in Arunachal Pradesh to pay regular visits to all remote border posts along the Indo-China border to know the 'ground realities'.

BJP national convener P Chandra Shekhar, who was in the state capital yesterday, reviewed the external and internal security in the state during a meeting with party's state unit president Tai Tagak and other senior leaders, a party communique said today.

The direction came in the wake of the party's recently conducted 'Sarhad Ko Pranam' and 'Shahid Shranddhanjali Yatra' to Kibithoo, Chaglagam and Walong sectors of Indian defence post in Anjaw district of the state.

Tagak also took a dig at the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for allegedly failing to man the border posts on the Indo-China border of Arunachal Pradesh, even after completion of 50 years of the Indo-Sino War.

He requested Shekhar to convey to all the central leaders to take up infrastructure development work along the border and strengthen the Indian defence post to protect the country's sovereignty, the communique added.
