"We have submitted our suggestions giving priority to the agriculture sector to become self-sufficient in grain production in the next three to four years," said Ayodhyanath Mishra, one of the members of the committee set up by the BJP to submit its suggestion ahead of the budget.
Underlining the importance of taking the state's irrigation facilities to the national average of 35 per cent, Mishra said the party's suggestions also included preparing schemes and programmes in such a manner that would increase GSDP as well as strengthen rural economy.
Mishra said the committee's suggestion included raising literacy level and tourism development - eco-tourism, religious tourism and senior citizen tourism.
Another member of the committee and BJP vice president Deepak Prakash said "We have also suggested on sectors like health, education and electricity."
