"Banerjee has taken the right decision by announcing that she will contest the next assembly elections in West Bengal without Congress. Now, she should ensure that there are early Lok Sabha elections. She should free the people of the burden they are suffering under the UPA government," BJP spokesperson Shahnnawaz Hussain said.
He alleged Congress, which had won 206 seats in the 2009 general elections, is behaving as if it has double the number of seats. "At a time when the people are facing several problems, the UPA government is busy placating its allies and firefighting within the coalition", Hussain added.
"Congress should learn how to manage a coalition from Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is living under the misconception that there is a Congress government at the Centre", he said alleging "Congress has a feudal attitude towards its allies. It does not take them into confidence and insults them".
BJP claimed UPA allies are with Congress only as a party but not with their hearts.
"The spring is over for Congress and this government is now in the autumn of its life," Hussain said.
He claimed NDA is ready for early polls and so are the people who want to overthrow the Manmohan Singh government "which has not done any good to them".
