The BJP will win all 26 seats in Gujarat since people of the state are proud that Narendra Modi will be prime minister again, state unit chief Jitu Vaghani said Monday, a day before the state goes to polls in a single phase.
He also said party workers are "full of enthusiasm" as its national chief Amit Shah is contesting from the state's Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat.
"The Congress is not going to defeat the BJP on any of the 26 seats in Gujarat. The Congress' negative campaigning is going to be rejected by the people of Gujarat," Vaghani told reporters at Kamalam, the BJP's headquarters in the state.
"People understand that Narendrabhai belongs to us (Gujarat being his home state). He has found a place in the heart of the people by his service that rises above caste and religion. People of Gujarat are proud and happy that he will again become prime minister," Vaghani said.
"The Congress national leadership's campaign in Gujarat was rejected by the people. The response that rallies of Amitbhai (Amit Shah) received in tribal regions of Dharampur and Chhota Udepur was unprecedented. They came in the thousands to attend his rallies even in sweltering afternoons," Vaghani said.
"Amit Shah himself contesting from Gandhinagar has charged up the BJP workers in the state. They are full of new kind of enthusiasm and are doing their job with double energy across all 26 seats," he added.
Vaghani said MLAs and other leaders of the Congress joining the BJP had shown that the former had failed.

"Only yesterday, Botad district panchayat members joined BJP. This shows people no longer trust Congress, and nor do its party workers," he claimed.
There are 371 candidates in the fray for the 26 Lok Sabha seats.
The state will also see four Assembly bypolls on Tuesday.
