Farmer suicides, market fluctuations, lack of infrastructural facilities and loopholes in government policies will be among the topics that will be discussed during the special Kisan parliament, Kisan Morcha national president O P Dhankar said here today.
"Besides, Bills pertaining to agriculture tabled in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, like the Land Acquisition Bill and Pesticides Management Bill, will be debated upon during the two-day meet," Dhankar said.
Kisan Morcha's further strategy to highlight farmers' issues will also be charted out during the meet, he added.
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate the Kisan parliament on May 12, while BJP national president Nitin Gadkari and agriculture economist M S Swaminathan are expected to participate in its concluding session on May 13.
