BJP wins 3 out of 4 seats in UP Assembly by-elections

BJP bagged three out of four Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, where by-elections took place with the Lok Sabha polls.
Of the four, Congress won Rampur Khas seat, where party nominee Aradhana Mishra alias Mona won from the seat defeating her nearest rival independent candidate Nagesh Pratap Singh by margin of over 67,000 votes.
The seat had falled vacant due to resignation of Mona's father Pramod Tiwari, who was elected to Rajya Sabha.
On Vishwanathganj seat in Pratapgarh, BJP-Apna Dal candidate Rakesh Kumar Verma defeated his nearest rival SP's Sanjay Pandey by margin of 14,071 votes.
The seat had falled vacant due to death of Sanjay's father and senior SP leader Rajaram Pandey.
Similarly on Unnao seat, BJP's Pankaj Gupta won from his nearest rival Manisha Deepak of SP by margin of 54,662 votes.
The seat had fallen vacant due to death of SP MLA Deepak Kumar.
On Fathepur seat, BJP candidate Vikram Singh won by defeating his nearest rival BSP's Jitendra Lodhi by margin of 12,509 votes. The seat had fallen vacant due to death of SP MLA Kasim Hasan.
