BJP workers protest in Kanpur against power cuts

BJP workers today staged a protest against unscheduled and long power outages in the city, causing traffic jam at the main chowk here.
The party workers, led by BJP MLA Satish Mahana, shouted slogans against the state government.
"The ruling Samajwadi Party ministers are not paying any attention to the electricity crisis in the city. I had raised this issue in the state assembly but only got empty assurances from the state government," Mahana said here.
The BJP MLA said if the electricity crisis was not solved at the earliest then he along with party workers will stage even more such protests.

Due to power shortage, several businesses, factories and the leather industry had been affected, he said.
