BJYM welcomes GST with firecrackers at India Gate

The Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha, BJP's youth wing, celebrated the launch of GST by bursting crackers at the India Gate lawns past midnight.
BJYM national president and Lok Sabha MP Poonam Mahajan led the celebrations to welcome the rollout of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
They played 'dhol' and distributed sweets among the people there Gate to celebrate the historic moment. BJYM National General Secretary Saurabh Chaudhary, its Delhi President Sunil Yadav were present on the occasion.
Mahajan said the implementation of the GST in the country is the "biggest step" towards tax reform since Independence.
"This tax regime will liberate people from the trap of tedious taxation. After the GST, not just the items of basic necessities would get cheaper, the biggest benefit will be that the complete system of taxation will become easier," she said.
Mahajn said over 18 tax exemptions will happen and the whole country will have only one tax- the GST.
She expressed confidence and happiness, that the GST would prove to be a milestone reform in the development of the country. Be it a businessman or a consumer, the GST will be beneficial for all sections of the society, she said.
