"Three farmers have died from shock after seeing the devastation caused to their standing crops during the past three days," Chaudhary Harpal Singh, national president, BKU (Harpal Group) said.
He estimated that the total loss of crops, mainly wheat and potato in the district "exceeds 80 per cent".

The district authorities were "in a denial mode" and still not accepting either the volume of the loss or the "cause of death" of these farmers, he alleged.
According to reports, Budh Sen (45) of Noorpur village, Badri Prasad (56) of Kharoa village and Rajendra Pal Singh (57) of Jalali town area died in the past three days.
