For the forthcoming 2017 elections, all major political parties have sounded the election bugle and the political scene has already heated up making it pertinent for BKU to evaluate and assess various political parties in regard to their sincerity and sensitivity towards the farmers issues which have compounded manifold in the recent past, the social issues and corruption, he said.
"The political parties have become habitual in shedding crocodile tears on the issues of agriculture sector before elections but when it comes to resolving them, they suddenly change their colors after they come to power," he said.
In view of this, it was decided that BKU will hold meetings with all prominent political parties, for which Mann was authorized to initiate discussions.
It was also observed in the meeting that BKU is equidistant from all political parties and the common minimum understanding needs to be arrived on agriculture, social and governance issues for enabling BKU to whole heartedly support that particular political party, Mann said.
