three-year-old
black buck, an endangered species, was found in Aska area of Odisha's Ganjam district, officials said today.
Forest officials spotted the dead male deer from Charimaili Chhaka, near Aska yesterday. It was suspected to have died due to infighting between bucks, they said.
"The animal died due to head injuries," said Forest Ranger, Aska N C Dora, quoting the postmortem report.
He said clash between black bucks, whose population was
very thick in the area, had been taking place frequently, sometimes causing deaths.
