Black money hoarders opposing demonetisation: Rajnath

Claiming that the ban of Rs 500 and Rs 100 notes would act as a blessing for the country, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said those who are opposed to demonetisation are actually hoarders of black money.
Addressing a rally as part of BJP's 'Parivartan Yatra' in Uttar Pradesh ahead of Assembly elections, Singh said the Opposition has been describing the government's decision of 'notebandi' (demonetisation) as 'nashbandi' (sterilisation).
"Those who are saying it as 'nashbandi' are actually hoarders of black money. Those who indulge in corruption, their
life blood have been cut," he said here.
The Home Minister said the decision of demonetisation was a bold decision and it was a fight against black money.

"It is also a fight against terrorism, it is a fight against extremism and this fight will continue," he said.

Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that people should give 50 days to the government to end the problems being faced by the people due to the demonetisation.
"When we have to take a big decision, we have to take strong steps. The decision of demonetisation would act as a blessing for the country," he said.
The veteran BJP leader said the decision of demonetisation was supported by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Odisha Chief Minister Navin Patnaik too.

The Home Minister also referred to the Special Investigation Team being set to up by the Modi government soon after assuming power in 2014 to unearth black money.
Singh claimed that there were some political parties which were giving tickets in return of money and these parties were now returning the money after demonetisation.
"But these days the elections can't be won with the power of money and muscle but of hard work and honesty," he said.
The Home Minister said Modi government has been trying to bring economic development for the people of the country and so far five crore women have been given free gas connection with cylinder.

In Uttar Pradesh alone, 34.55 lakh such gas connections have been given, he said.
Singh said for the first time in Independent India, the central government has brought poor and farmers under the banking system.
"We have started Mudra Bank where one can avail loan up to Rs 10 lakh without giving any guarantee. In Uttar Pradesh alone, during 2015-16, Rs 12,000 crore have been distributed among 33.45 lakh people under the Mudra Bank," he said.
The Home Minister said India got independence 70 years ago and since then many governments have assumed power but there has been no development in real sense as per people's expectations.

"There will be no proper development as long as there is no change in system along with the change of government. India and Uttar Pradesh have been waiting for change of the system since Independence," he said.
Paying tributes to former Prime Minister V P Singh, who belonged to this region, Singh said even though he (V P Singh) had tried to eliminate corruption but he never became successful.
The Home Minister mentioned about the six year rule of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said he was successful in controlling the price rise as well as building wide roads across the country.

"But during the ten years Congress rule, the price rise was in its peak, there were allegations of corruption of lakhs of rupees," he alleged.
Singh also referred to the compensation given to farmers who are affected by natural calamities saying the amount was enhanced by the NDA government substantially.
