Black pepper and ginger drop on lower demand

Black pepper and ginger prices dropped further at the spices market here today following lower demand from stockists and retailers.
Other spices ruled steady in the absence of necessary buying activity.
Black pepper prices fell by Rs 20/20 per kg to Rs 680/750 from Thursday's close at Rs 700/770.
Ginger bleached and ginger unbleached also edged down by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 130 and Rs 150 as against Rs 135 and Rs 155 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):
Black pepper (per kg) 680/750 (700/770), ginger bleached (per kg) 130 (135), ginger unbleached (per kg) 150 (155), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 9,500 (9,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,400 (9,400), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 11,100 (11,100), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 10,500 (10,500).
