Black pepper drops in lacklustre trade

Black pepper prices dropped further in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today following poor offtake from stockists and retailers.
While, other spices ruled stable in absence of any other large-scale buying activity.
Black pepper weakened by Rs 10/10 per kg to Rs 620/690 from Wednesday's close at Rs 630/700.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):
Black pepper (per kg) 620/690 (630/700), ginger bleached (per kg) 120 (120), ginger unbleached (per kg) 140 (140), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 9,200 (9,200), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,100 (9,100), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 11,200 (11,200), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 10,100 (10,100).
