Black pepper, ginger firm up on good demand, low arrivals
Press Trust of India Mumbai Prices of black pepper and ginger firmed up at the spices market here today due to increased demand from stockists and exporters on the back of restricted arrivals from key growing regions.
While, copra, across the spectrum of varieties maintained a steady trend in the absence of necessary buying support.
Black pepper moved up by Rs 5/2 per kilo to Rs 640/730 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 635/728.
Ginger bleached and unbleached both rose by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 230 and Rs 250 as compared to Rs 225 and Rs 245, respectively.
