Black pepper slides on ample supplies, copra gains

Black pepper prices slid further at the spices market here today due to sustained stockist selling amidst weak demand from retailers and exporters on the back of good arrivals.
Meanwhile, select copra prices gained on firm demand from stockist and millers.
Rest all other spices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.
Black pepper declined by 15/5 per kg to Rs 385/420 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 400/425.
Copra Rajapur Mumbai climbed by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,100 from Rs 6,000.
Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode moved up by Rs 25 per quintal each to Rs 4,675 and Rs 4,575 as against Rs 4,650 and Rs 4,550 last weekend.

Black pepper (per kg) 385/420 (440/425), ginger bleached (per kg) 140 (140), ginger unbleached (per kg) 150 (150), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 4,675 (4,650), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 4,575 (4,550), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 6,100 (6,000) Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 5,650 (5,650).
