The 22-year-old actor is lined up to play one of the three lead baseball players in 'That's What I'm Talking About', reported Deadline.
Linklater, who directed 'Boyhood', is said to have offered the other two lead roles to Tyler Hoechlin and Wyatt Russell.
Hoechlin is known for starring as Derek Hale in 'Teen Wolf'. He has also appeared in '7th Heaven' and Tom Hanks film 'Road to Perdition'.
Russell played Zook in comedy sequel '22 Jump Street'.
'That's What I'm Talking About' will reportedly feature a similar tone to Linklater's 'Dazed and Confused'.
