"Had @ArvindKejriwal spent time in Delhi, he might have paid attention to its mounting air problems. Blaming Punjab's farmers is just shameless," he tweeted.
Kejriwal had blamed stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana for the alarming levels of pollution in the national capital.
"Pollution has increased to an extent that outdoors in Delhi resembles a gas chamber. Prima facie the biggest reason seems to be burning of stubble in agricultural fields in Haryana and Punjab in huge quantity," the Delhi Chief Minister had said.
"Clearly, with an eye on the forthcoming Punjab Assembly elections, Kejriwal's AAP has chosen to maintain a studious silence over the critical issue of stubble burning in the state," state Congress leaders Rana Gurjit Singh, Dharamveer Agnihotri and Inderjit Singh Zira alleged in a release.
