An accused in the 1998 serial bomb blasts here, arrested this week after being absconding for 16 years, was today remanded to three days CB-CID police custody by a city court.
The court was passing orders on a petition by CB-CID SID seeking seven days' custody of Kunhu Mohammed arrested on July 31 from Malappuram in Kerala.
He was wanted by the police in connection with the February 14, 1998 serial bomb blasts that had rocked the city claiming 58 lives.
When the CB-CID petition came up for hearing, Fifth Judicial Magistrate Selvakumar allowed three days' custody of the accused and directed the investigating agency to produce him on August 5.
Mohammed, 178th accused in the cases, is facing charges of supplying explosives and also giving asylum to some of the accused in the case.
